Let Me Call You Sweetheart...

It is hard to believe that it has been one full year since Edward and I were handfasted above Loch Avie. What a year it has been!
In one year's time, Edward learned that he was the Earl of Primbroke, and more recently the Duke of Argylle. We have moved from our lovely home, Davaar, in Caledon Cay to the Highlands to Winterfell Harbourside and finally to Caledon Argylle (which we are still working on settling in there....do drop by though, or enjoy the space to boat or fly...free picnic lunch on the beach).
We also managed to survive the first massive SLRFL, the Egg War, the Harvest Festival, the Winter Season and many, many, many other events which keep our social calendars rather full (so please don't ask why I've not written anything in mine as of late...talk to my typist). We've explored new lands, shared many ideas, worked together on projects (yes, Eugenia, I've not forgotten about your farmhouse! :-D) and otherwise enjoyed spending time in each other's company. My respect and admiration for Edward has deepend in this past year.
Traditionally, the handfasting ceremony is for a year and a day. Due to RL obligations, we will not be able to hold a renewal ceremony that day, but I assure you all that we are remaining together and we will have a party as soon as RL simmers down a bit. Besides, we caused enough offense last year having our ceremony the day we did, with certain parties ;-) I'm certain Argylle will be the venue of choice and those wanting to come and celebrate with us will be able to explore our home at their leisure too. Edward has been very busy with certain projects and I look forward to seeing him complete them when he has more time.
I would like to thank Edward for sharing this past year with me as his wife. It has been a wonderful year and I'm looking forward to the times ahead with me at his side. Happy Anniversary my love!

IT'S HERE!!!!

It's finally here! Harbourside should be emerging from the depths very soon! It is ordered and on it's way. Fuzz, you had best get ready for a whole new view beside you, the land is going to look a bit different. I do hope it's up before Christmas...how lovely for all the new people to be able to be in their new homes for the Holidays. Hooray!!!!

May I Present To You....

The Big Day has come and gone, in the whirl of activity that usually accompanies such days. Happily, there weren't any major glitches or problems to thwart or plague us and for this I am thankful.

Our ceremony took place in Loch Avie, high above the sim in Miss Kate Nicholas' chapel. It is a lovely build and was the perfect setting for our handfasting. I was terrified at first as I seemed to be stuck in lag storms which would hold me still and then release me with terrible velocity. Thankfully though, the storm passed and I was able to make my way through the chapel and up to the daias where my beloved was waiting for me.

My dear brother, Lunar, served as my attendant and Miss Emilly Orr served as Sir Edward's. He and I knelt in front of the gathering of our friends and pledged our troth to each other. I mean and meant every word that passed my lips and will do my utmost to fulfill my promises. After we exchanged rings (mine is a beautiful gold Claddaugh with ruby stone and his is a band encircled with thistles), we kissed (the best part! *blushes*) and then made our way to Steelhead for the reception.

What a grand time it was too. So many of our dear friends came to help us celebrate our special day! While the lag reached new lows, it didn't seem to dampen anyone's spirits as we danced into the night. Lunar had worked very hard to finish the new hotel (which is a marvel, I assure you...such a gorgeous build!!) and I think I can safely say that it was christened in fine style with the reception. We know that the dancefloor is sound and can support many people as they whirl and have fun. Sheriff Ortega worked his usual magic and supplied the most excellent music to keep us dancing and having fun. He is truly worth every penny and perhaps quite a few more!

Sadly, the dance had to end and Sir Edward and I boarded our new horse and buggy, given to us by Miss Virrginia Tombola. We drove off to start our new life togther.

I would like to thank our wonderful friends for joining us on this special day and for being a support and encouragement to us. Your presence was the greatest gift of all! Thank you! For more pictures of this event, please see Mr. Hotspur O'Toole's blog (Hibernia on the Skids).

I look forward to our honeymoon. We'll be leaving for it shortly and I'm sure I'll have more to share.

Spring Cleaning and the Promise of Peace

Today I was quite busy being very domestic. Spring, with it's delightful breezes and warm sunshine, prompted me to give Rosehaven a good and thorough cleaning. I dusted down the furniture, beat the carpets, shook out the draperies and otherwise returned it to it's neat and tidy appearance. I even took the liberty of tidying Mr. Abel's lair, dusting his many artifacts and works of art and making sure his supply of towels and such were in good repair. I hadn't heard from him in some time and I hoped he was managing well with his explorations.

The post came and I noticed a letter from my beloved, Mr. Pearse. How good it was to see his bold, yet neat hand on a letter addressed to me. He had been busy with the war effort in Caledon, and as such, did not accompany me to Steelhead this time. I settled myself on the porch swing and opened his letter, looking forward to his news with delight and great anticipation.

Of course, a great deal of the letter was tender sentiments which I'm sure will not interest gentle readers such as yourselves. However, he did mention a Reconcilliation ball being held this evening and he hoped I would be able to attend. What wonderful news! The war will not happen now that both sides have decided to meet together and work out their differences. I breathed a sigh of relief, the knot in my stomach loosening as the worry of my dear Edward being wounded (or possibly worse) in the event of a war slipped away. This is good news indeed.

Noting the time of the ball, I quickly changed into a dress suitable for travel and caught the next train back to Caledon. Hopefully I will be able to steal away from the Ball in Carntaigh to attend the Masquarade in Steelhead as well. Let the celebrations begin!
