Ahhh...Summertime!

Life has been busy in Primbroke manor as of late. Edward has been very busy, nipping off in his TARDIS to work on a club of some sort as well as attending to his other business interests. I have kept a lower profile, staying mostly at home, attending to the domestic realm, as it my habit. There is always much to do in the summer, with the garden to attend to, as well as putting up the fruits that are in season.

Mrs. Clowes, Nell and myself have been very busy making jams and other preserves. There are few things more enjoyable than opening a jar of raspberry jam in the dead of winter and having summertime greet your tastebuds as you bite into your slice of toast. As well, there are other fruits such as peaches, pears, cherries and saskatoons that can be put up so they can be enjoyed at their best when Jack Frost is painting the window panes. I also find it beneficial to bottle as much fruits as possible, as I tend to use them in my baking for Rosehaven Recipes as well.

While I've not been out in the public eye much, I have been keeping informed (although usually much after the fact) about events. I would like to congratulate Fuzzball Ortega on his excellent efforts as Steelhead's RFL Team Captain. He did a superior job and should be very proud of himself. I do hope though, that his head won't be too cold this winter, with him having shaved his head. Perhaps it's time to dig out that old Cowboy hat, or find a toque to keep warm.

At any rate, I should go and get back to the kitchen. While it is technically not something a lady in my position should be doing, I rather enjoy working in the kitchen. It reminds me of helping my mother out when I was a young girl. The joys of the height of summer!

P.S. Just a word to the wise....be *very* careful what you put into the Google Images search...."Victorian Canning" brings up quite different sorts of pictures!!! (and yes, I was very careful to have two n's in that!)

Shiver Me Timbers!!!!!!

Move over Captain Jack! Saturday night saw a very special event take place aboard the Jolly Pidgeon which had made berth at the Steelhead docks. In hopes of getting Steelhead Harbourside up and running, we held a fundraiser and was it successful! Not only that, but what is better than a pirate dance? A pirate dance with bare chested men! *fans herself*

Indeed. It was a night to remember. Lunar decided to set the topless bar at L$15K. He should have set it higher (told ya bro). The men had stripped to their waists by 7:20pm. Ladies, bless you for having such generous natures. ;-)

So without further ado, I present to you the images I was able to capture that night. Lately, things have been very slow to rezz for me and unfortunatly, I was not able to capture pictures of all the men in their topless state as some appeared to be wearing shirts until nearly the end of the dance. I *know* that none of the men shirked their duty (bless their hearts!) and I'm certain you will see evidence of them on other journals. As well, I didn't capture any picture of the brave ladies who went topless when the pot hit L$60K. Sorry fellas!

Our very fine, obviously easy on the eyes Sheriff, Fuzzball Ortega

Yummy! And this is all mine! Ladies, eat your hearts out! ;-D

Aza, showing he has the heart for Steelhead (literally!)

Lunar (or "Abs" as he's been dubbed by Miss Burton) showing his stuff

A view of some of the revellers

Do I really need to explain this? *giggles*

Thank you to all our fine gentlemen who lost their shirts for Steelhead. As one of the ladies in the crowd, let me just say this....it was a night for drool buckets, with or without Robbie Williams playing. In fact, I think the water levels in the harbour went up about 6 inches. Thanks again fellas! It was truly a night to remember!!!

Steelhead Chippendales....well Almost

This Saturday, from 7-9 pm SLT, feel free to come down to the Steelhead Docks for a very special dance. The Jolly Pidgeon is being brought out of retirement for a pirate style dance on board. This dance is also a fundraiser for the sim, in hopes that we will be able to get Steelhead Harbourside from being a map to being up and running. Miss Eugenia wants her farm folks!

There will be a tip jar out and once a certain figure has been reached, the gracious (and good looking) men of Steelhead have agreed to remove their shirts for the remainder of the evening. As well, our dear Sheriff Fuzzball Ortega announced that if all the plots were booked, he'd even wear a grass skirt. Lunar suggested he might even do less clothing than that. ;-)

Of course, once the Steelhead men have lost their shirts, the other men in the crowd are more than welcome to bare their chests as well.

Now I know what some of you men might be thinking... "Why would I want to go to a dance where the men remove their shirts???" Gentlemen, may I point out to you that such a dance will draw ladies...lots of ladies. Pirate ladies. Who knows what may happen?? ;-)

The Men of Steelhead are: TotalLunar Eclipse, Fuzzball Ortega, Edward Pearse, Aza Zymurgy, Darien Mason, Hawc Decosta, Remington Pinion, Hotspur O'Toole, Phineas Messmer and Dominic Roffo. If you are a gentleman who is either currently renting or has your name down for a plot in Harbourside and would like to participate, please let me know.

Thank you and see you at the docks on Saturday, December 15 from 7-9pm SLT. Bring your lindens and let's party!

It was a One Eyed, One Horned, Flying....

Now that the smoke has cleared and the dust has settled, I am able to search for my pen and ink that went missing when the aliens landed......Oh, pardon me, I'm terribly ahead of myself. Perhaps I should go back to the beginning of this mess.

Thursday morning dawned bright and clear. I had noticed that we were in need of a few things back at camp and so headed to Davaar by train and trolley to pick up a few provisions. I also stopped in Victoria City to gather a few other necessary items. It was approaching evening by the time I finished all of my shopping and as the train has been rather sporadic at best, I grew tired of waiting for it to return and so headed back to camp on foot. When I got there, this is the scene that greeted me.

At first I was very nonplussed. I thought that the Blue Team had been doing some spying and had crashed their flying machine(s). I marched into the pub and sent a telegram over to a member of the blue team asking them about the debris and was told that no, it wasn't them but that Aliens had landed.

Needless to say, I was a bit surprised at this news. However shortly thereafter, my beloved arrived and I pushed that information to the back of my mind. Edward decided that a trip around Caledon in the Parsvail to look for any other landing sites would be a good idea, so he, the Duchess of Carntaigh, Miss Gustafson, Sheriff Ortega and myself boarded and flew peacefully through the air.

However, word soon reached my dear Sir Edward that our encampment at Loch Avie was under attack! We hurried back to the camp to see these very odd alien orb-ish type creatures shooting these evil fire beams at our camp! The troops mobilised, the blue team pitching in to ward off the evil attackers as well! I later heard that their camp was decimated by the creatures, of which I was very sorry to learn.

Dr. Figaro was in attendance and as some of her medical staff were unavailable, I offered my meagre services as nursemaid, doing what I could. Minor injuries were sustained in the Loch, but then we heard that the Alien had swiftly made their way to Eyre and were being very destructive. Everyone sprinted away, hurrying and sending out calls for help to others as they went.

In Eyre, Mr. Book received a very deadly chest wound. Dr. Figaro patched him up as best she could and asked me to keep an eye on him as he awaited transport in Miss Lightfoot's shop. Luckily he survived, for which I'm sure Lady Amber is exceedingly grateful. In fact, if it hadn't been for the valiant work of our dear Doctor, I'm sure the losses would have been very high that day indeed.

The Aliens

The battle raged on for quite some time. Sheriff Ortega's flying machine, the Interceptor was shot down and nearly ruined, as were many other vehicles. The Aliens seemed to be impervious to our weapons, but finally, on the bloody field of Tammaronach, the tide began to turn. Sadly, Mr. O'Toole's house was set ablaze (again) which really threw him into a murderous frenzy (understandably) and there were flames everywhere with more injuries, but slowly, Caledon began to gain the upper hand.

Finally, the battle died down. Troops were in the Moors and Mayfair with no further sightings of the hideous creatures from beyond. Hoo's and Huzzah's went up and everyone staggered back to their respective camps or abodes (as many non-militia persons joined in the defense)for the evening. Edward and I visited for awhile with the members of the Red Team who were able to keep their eyes open before collapsing into a deep sleep ourselves.

Fortunatly, many people had recovered enough to attend the ball in Steelhead on Friday. I would say the dance was a success and I do believe a good time was had by all. Afterwards, I showed Edward the changes I have made to the attic in Rosehaven and he contributed a few very important touches as well. I also had to show him the new bathroom I had put in....and the very lovely bathtub as well. Ahhhh....washing away the grit and grime of battle had never been so enjoyable! *smiles demurely*

The main battle is today....Hopefully both teams have seen that we are all Caledonians, regardless of how we eat our eggs (but everyone knows that the correct way *is* the little end) *grins* Now to lay out my things for the Duchess of Carntaigh's ball later....

Happy Birthday Fuzzball!

Saturday was the Fuzzball Formal in Steelhead (of course). Sheriff Fuzzball Ortega was celebrating his RL birthday in style with his sister, Angelica throwing a birthday bash for him in the hotel ballroom. Sadly, I arrived very late due to RL butting in, but from all accounts a good time was had by all. The DJ'ing gene must truly run in the family as Angelica kept us dancing with excellent music until the party ended.

Fuzz received many gifts, which is not surprising as he's truly a wonderful person and is loved by many people. Edward and I found a motorized scooter for him so he can do his patrol of Steelhead in comfort since he's getting to be rather elderly. *grins*

Happy Birthday Fuzz! Here's to many more!!

Bwhahahahaha

It was "Evil Twin" Night in Steelhead. At first I couldn't decide what my evil twin would be and seriously considered having a headache that night. However after discussing the idea with Sir Edward, a thought came to me....a truly wicked, evil thought.

Yes, dear readers....that is truly me. The overly tanned, exceedingly busty, blinged out, bleach blonde, underclad person in the picture on the left is none other than myself. My dear brother Lunar became caught up in the spirit of the dance and became my twin as well....Twin Evil Twins! Sir Edward chose to wear camo board shorts and a "wife beater" top with sandals, a very shaggy blonde hairstyle with beer and a beretta for accessories.

It was a very fun evening with Sheriff Fuzzball Ortega spinning the tunes (he was an evil white werewolf with wings, of course). Tensai, being perfectly evil normally, came looking as sweet and innocent as a springtime day, dressed in pink from head to toe. It was interesting to see what or who everyone considered to be their "evil" twin.
