Oooh! Another fun quizzy thing!

You are The Empress
Beauty, happiness, pleasure, success, luxury, dissipation.
The Empress is associated with Venus, the feminine planet, so it represents, beauty, charm, pleasure, luxury, and delight. You may be good at home decorating, art or anything to do with making things beautiful.
The Empress is a creator, be it creation of life, of romance, of art or business. While the Magician is the primal spark, the idea made real, and the High Priestess is the one who gives the idea a form, the Empress is the womb where it gestates and grows till it is ready to be born. This is why her symbol is Venus, goddess of beautiful things as well as love. Even so, the Empress is more Demeter, goddess of abundance, then sensual Venus. She is the giver of Earthly gifts, yet at the same time, she can, in anger withhold, as Demeter did when her daughter, Persephone, was kidnapped. In fury and grief, she kept the Earth barren till her child was returned to her

My Steampunk Style
What can I say...I think I even own that dress, and most assuredly the hat! ;-)
Your result for The Steampunk Style Test...
The Citizen
71% Elegant, 41% Technological, 80% Historical, 12% Adventurous and 6% Playful!

You are the Citizen, the embodiment of steampunk’s everyday side. You realize that there is far more to a rich, living environment than adventurers and lunatic engineers. For every gentleman-scientist or airship fleet admiral there are a dozen or more “ordinary people” who prevent the genre from devolving into a mass of cardboard caricatures, and you take pride in exploring the great diversity of a steampunk world’s population. Your clothing could easily come from any social group or society, and you are equally liable to dress upper, middle, or working class. However, the unifying feature to your fashion sense is that it does not get carried away with “looking steampunk,” instead creating a person who could have just stepped out of the crowd in a novel. Some people may claim that your style is too close to historical accuracy to be steampunk, but fortunately you know better.
Try our other Steampunk test here.

Shiver Me Timbers!!!!!!
Move over Captain Jack! Saturday night saw a very special event take place aboard the Jolly Pidgeon which had made berth at the Steelhead docks. In hopes of getting Steelhead Harbourside up and running, we held a fundraiser and was it successful! Not only that, but what is better than a pirate dance? A pirate dance with bare chested men! *fans herself*
Indeed. It was a night to remember. Lunar decided to set the topless bar at L$15K. He should have set it higher (told ya bro). The men had stripped to their waists by 7:20pm. Ladies, bless you for having such generous natures. ;-)
So without further ado, I present to you the images I was able to capture that night. Lately, things have been very slow to rezz for me and unfortunatly, I was not able to capture pictures of all the men in their topless state as some appeared to be wearing shirts until nearly the end of the dance. I *know* that none of the men shirked their duty (bless their hearts!) and I'm certain you will see evidence of them on other journals. As well, I didn't capture any picture of the brave ladies who went topless when the pot hit L$60K. Sorry fellas!
Our very fine, obviously easy on the eyes Sheriff, Fuzzball Ortega
Yummy! And this is all mine! Ladies, eat your hearts out! ;-D
Aza, showing he has the heart for Steelhead (literally!)
Lunar (or "Abs" as he's been dubbed by Miss Burton) showing his stuff
A view of some of the revellers
Do I really need to explain this? *giggles*
Thank you to all our fine gentlemen who lost their shirts for Steelhead. As one of the ladies in the crowd, let me just say this....it was a night for drool buckets, with or without Robbie Williams playing. In fact, I think the water levels in the harbour went up about 6 inches. Thanks again fellas! It was truly a night to remember!!!

So....You think you have what it takes to be a Victorian??
While skulking about on the aethernet, I found a couple interesting sites to visit. Look them up and see if you have what it takes to be a proper Victorian!

Have Fun!
Steelhead Chippendales....well Almost
This Saturday, from 7-9 pm SLT, feel free to come down to the Steelhead Docks for a very special dance. The Jolly Pidgeon is being brought out of retirement for a pirate style dance on board. This dance is also a fundraiser for the sim, in hopes that we will be able to get Steelhead Harbourside from being a map to being up and running. Miss Eugenia wants her farm folks!
There will be a tip jar out and once a certain figure has been reached, the gracious (and good looking) men of Steelhead have agreed to remove their shirts for the remainder of the evening. As well, our dear Sheriff Fuzzball Ortega announced that if all the plots were booked, he'd even wear a grass skirt. Lunar suggested he might even do less clothing than that. ;-)
Of course, once the Steelhead men have lost their shirts, the other men in the crowd are more than welcome to bare their chests as well.
Now I know what some of you men might be thinking... "Why would I want to go to a dance where the men remove their shirts???" Gentlemen, may I point out to you that such a dance will draw ladies...lots of ladies. Pirate ladies. Who knows what may happen?? ;-)
The Men of Steelhead are: TotalLunar Eclipse, Fuzzball Ortega, Edward Pearse, Aza Zymurgy, Darien Mason, Hawc Decosta, Remington Pinion, Hotspur O'Toole, Phineas Messmer and Dominic Roffo. If you are a gentleman who is either currently renting or has your name down for a plot in Harbourside and would like to participate, please let me know.
Thank you and see you at the docks on Saturday, December 15 from 7-9pm SLT. Bring your lindens and let's party!

Keeping the Peace with the Holy Smackdown
Saturday night was Steelhead's weekly dance. While it is normally held on the Friday, it was moved to accomodate the St. Andrew's festivities which were happening in Caledon, Loch Avie. I do hope my beloved Edward will be able to provide readers with a summary of that event, as my camera was not working at it's best ability. However, do know that it was a lovely event and I do believe a good time was had by many, if not all.
So, in honour of the Steelhead SWAT team, we assembled at the Saloon and prepared to party down. For those of you who don't know, our SWAT team is not what you'd call ordinary (which stands to reason as Steelhead is anything *but* ordinary itself). Our SWAT team is made up of a group of hardworking ladies of the cloth, the Sisters of Mercy, the Defenders of Peace, Order and Ammunition, the believers of the Father, the Son and the Holy hoooo! Led by our esteemed Sheriff, the SWAT team is made up of nuns.....nuns with guns.
All in all, the dance was a lot of fun. Sister CeAire pointed out that the only way you could tell if someone had fully rezzed or not was if their clothes were black instead of grey. Without any further ado, here are some pictures from the evening.
A picture of the crowd
Cardinal Somme and her Holiness, Sister Eva with her beating stick. The Spontaneous Spanker, Sister Myfanwy and another of the Davies sisters in the background
Brother Hawc and Sister CeAire, after being told to get some daylight between them. Apparently Hawc has a very large Bandiolier
Adding a little Eastern flavour to the event, Adso Krogstad (I hope I spelled that correctly)
Some more of the revelers, including Sister Whoop-Ass, Father O'Toole, Mr. Offcourse (who was down that night.....I think)and our illustrious Sheriff. Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!!!
Next week, it's back to Friday night and the theme is Steampunk. Tell your friends and come on down for a good time!

Gliding on Ice
Monday was her Grace, the Duchess of Middlesea's rez day. In honour of this, his Grace, the Duke of Greystoke hosted a skating party for all to enjoy. I was delighted to hear that my beloved Edward was going to be providing the musical accompaniment, so nothing would interfere with us being able to attend.
While I do not know her Grace very well, what I have seen of her has been very telling of what sort of person she is. Always pleasant and kind, finding good to speak of everyone and of a quiet yet fun loving nature, Gloire (if I may be so bold as to address her by her first name) seems to be a lovely lady and very much deserving of a splendid party.
An overhead view of the skating area
Gnarli had gone to a good deal of effort preparing an area for skaters to test their mettle. For those who wanted to observe or rest, plenty of seating was available as well. While Edward set up his musical apparatus, I strapped on my skates and hoped for the best.
Guests preparing to skate or testing their balance
There was a good mix of people at the party, including some that I've never met before. One lady was dressed as a snow fairy, which I thought was rather enchanting and suitable. She was with another lady who was dressed in darker clothes, but they did skate together quite gracefully.
The Snow Fairy and friend, with Mrs. Peterman in the background
Gnarli and Glorie, ice dancing. They are rumoured to be courting and I wish them both every happiness
I believe his Grace must have had the ice enchanted, as I was able to skate far better than I had even dreamed possible. All sorts of fancy skating was seen, tricky steps that normally would fill my heart with dread. Edward and I coasted around the ice surface, as free as the wind and skating in perfect harmony. What a splendid time!

A tricky spin
Even my dear brother Lunar decided to drop in for some of the fun. He managed to get himself into a snowball fight with Miss Poppy (whom I think was winning and plastering his elven butt with snowballs as quick as you please). Sleigh rides for two were also free for the taking if one was not inclined to prepare for snowball battle (although, no promises you'd not get hit anyhow!)
Sadly, the night came to the end and my beloved and I had to depart. We had a splendid time though, and hope the Duchess of Middlesea has many more rezz days to come!

Harvest Festival Events
My goodness! What a busy week and it's not over yet! If you've not been able to attend any of the events in either Caledon or Steelhead, I strongly suggest you manage to find a few minutes to go, you won't be disappointed.
Sunday saw the kick off to the week with the horse race in Steelhead. Unfortunately, my human had a terrible headache and decided to lay down for a few minutes to clear it and promptly fell asleep. By the time she awoke, the race was over. However, I hear that it was a lot of fun, even with the Daring Drop of Doom on the corner of the dock. *grins*
We also had Edward Lowell scheduled to play live music, but for a variety of reasons he was unable to attend and perform. So, our noble Sheriff Fuzzball Ortega fired up his music making machine and cranked out the tunes so we could dance the night away. Of course, it was crashilious but a few brave souls hung in until the very end.
Monday afternoon we had a tea in the garden. Miss Lumina was our hostess and it was quite well attended. Luckily I had the sense to bring my camera to the tea and was able to capture a few images of the event.
Entrance to the Garden
Taking tea and having polite conversation
Mr. Aza Zymurgy entertains us with his unique skin, juggling and riding his unicycle. Only in Steelhead.
Also, if you have a chance, please stop by Steelhead and vote for your favorite scarecrow. Scarecrows are located down off the town square on the very west end. Also, the corn maze and pumpkin hunt are there for your enjoyment as well.
Tuesday we had a treasure hunt in the Cay. I'd like to thank Mr. Mavromichelli Szondi for all his hard work writing the clues, putting out the clues and otherwise doing all the work. I think it was a challenge for all of those who participated.
Tuesday night there was a race in the new Firth of Caledon as well. My beloved hauled out his new Steamray boat (that does a lot of other things as well) and completed the course in a super speedy time. Mr O'Toole was also in the race and bravely finished. We were all very impressed that he was able to manage the course without interruption, seeing how he's had such troubles as of late with fainting and such when in world.
All in all, it's been a wonderful Festival. As I said earlier, please try to attend some of the events. If you aren't sure when they are, keep your eyes out for one of the signs at the Caledon telehubs, all over Steelhead and I think Antiquity may have a sign as well. Come out and have a very good time!

SURPIRSE!!!!!!
What a weekend! While I was unable to attend Friday night's festivities due to my human having to contend with some rather dire RL things, I was back in world on Saturday, although my human was feeling rather "out at the elbows" as she had only 3 hrs of sleep the night prior, in a cot that attempted to fold itself back up while she was in it.
So, needless to say, Saturday evening we were moving at a somewhat slower pace than normal. I was busy attending to any and all last minute details that popped up for the American Civil War Ball, to be held on the Sunday. My brother, Lunar and I were running here and there getting last minute items, and his charming wife was with us, showing me some lovely sculptie prims that I had asked her to make for me, for a commissioned cake. My beloved was noticably absent, doing something "super sekret", and since he began asking me for my cake recipes my suspicion began to raise it's weary head and I thought perhaps something was afoot.
Sure enough, my love asked if I would please dress, as he wanted to take me some place special in honour of my Rezz Day. I inwardly groaned as the thought of having to decide what to wear was really almost too much for me at that point, but I settled on a gown I had not yet worn in public, one that was capable of being worn in Caledon or abroad without looking out of place. Ladies, if you are interested, I bought it at Ivalde....wonderful shop, bring your lindens, prepare to leave them at the shop.
So, I was aware that something was going to happen, but unaware of the particulars when the carriage arrived to whisk me away to my special evening.....and what an evening it was!!!
I found myself in the hall of Coughton Court, with a crowd of friends who assembled together to help me celebrate one year of lots of insanity and very little sleep! What a wonderful surprise! Her Grace, the Duchess of Carntaigh, Gabrielle Riel provided the music...including 25....that's right folks....TWENTY FIVE minutes of solid Robbie Williams......am I a happy girl or what?!?!?! *swoons*
Some of the crowd assembled
My brother TotalLunar Eclipse and Miss Emilly Orr
Some more of the partygoers getting down and having fun!
Caledon Synchronised dancing!
I rezzed out a picture of me at day 2 of my life in SL (which I must confess now, that while I did sign up for SL on August 26th, I was unable to actually get in world until the 30th of September, due to an old crock of a computer that lacked the jam to do it) and then a more recent picture as well. My dearest Edward added to the collection, as did the Duchess (a picture from our Ladies Night Out experiment *Grins*) and my brother added a few as well. Rather overpowering!!
The Wall of Pictures being built
The full wall
The partying and dancing continued for quite some time. My dearest Edward took over the music from the Duchess after a couple of hours and the fun carried on. I honestly cannot recall the last time I had such an enjoyable, carefree evening. But then.....Dr. Who was played and low and behold if we weren't invaded by Daleks! I don't know if they were on the guest list, but I supposed that wouldn't stop them anyhow. Luckily, the crowd was very used to dealing with them and other than Miss Em getting singed a bit, they were dispatched in good order (but I think they had fun while they were there).
The Daleks getting down and bustin' a move
Sadly, all good things must come to an end and as much as I would have loved to have stayed for several more hours, my human was starting to feel like she would drop at the keyboard, so the party had to be wound down.
I would like to thank my dearest Edward, her Grace Gabrielle, my brother and his lovely partner, Miss Gustafson and everyone else who had a hand in my surprise party. It is very heartwarming to be thought of so well and to have had you all there with me to celebrate a full year of precious little sleep and a whole lot of fun in Second Life. Thank you so very much! :-D

The Pleasure of Your Company is Requested...
Please join us at the Steelhead Hotel and Ballroom this Sunday, August 26th from 7-9 pm for an evening of dancing. Her Grace, the Duchess of Carntaigh will delight our ears with her splendid taste in music. Dr. Darien Mason will be our host. Refreshments will be served, to replenish your strength and fortitude as we dance the night away. Formal dress is requested and strongly suggested. Both the Blue and the Grey are welcome, as are our friends from other genteel sims.
This ball is being held in honour of the American Civil War Exhibit that is currently on display at the Caledon Library. Please pay the library a visit during the afternoon of the 26th to speak with the curator, Mr. Turing Weyland but the Battle of Fredricksburg and the exhibit. The exhibit will run until October, if you would like to learn more about this historic battle.

An Enjoyable Evening
On Monday evening, my beloved suggested we go and do something, to get away from our work and just do a little exploring together. After some discussion, we decided it would be a good idea to take our horses out for some exercise as they were becoming quite fat and sassy, being in the stables most of the time and not getting nearly enough excercise.
We went to AKK Ranch, where you can also obtain a horse of your preference. They also sell horses now with armour as well as Pegusus (or would that be Pegusi?) with the usual assortment of dun's, roans and unicorns. They also have riding trails, which is what we set out to explore.
The trails were very well done and enjoyable to follow. We were curious about a trail that appeared to go straight up a mountainside and prompted our steeds to attempt the climb. They managed to get up the incline quite easily and we found ourselves in the middle of a Dragon's Lair!
The dragons seemed to be quite friendly (obviously, or I'd not be able to tell you of our adventure, you'd be reading my obituary instead, assuming my bones were recovered) and quite content in their mountaintop home. After looking over their abode, we continued with our explorations.
We meandered through lush meadows, where deer were grazing in the grass that was swaying gently in the breeze. We encountered a valley of wild horses, who inspite of being untamed, were very calm when we drew near. We enjoyed looking at the beautiful scenery and surprises tucked here and there along the trail. Finally, after fording a rather deep stream we came across what appeared to be a very large slide that emptied into the lake. Of course, my dearest (being male and we know how boys are) had to go down this slide with his trusty horse not once, but three times (mostly because I couldn't get a picture until the 3rd try!). I am told it was fun....it certainly appeared to be so!
The trails held many delights, including an area that was rather snowy and wintry, most likely due to a higher elevation. There was a cheery fire lit, so we paused for awhile to give our mounts a rest as we warmed ourselves by the blaze. I'm am thinking Mr. and Mrs. Snowman must be made of rather firm stuff to be able to sit by the fire and not melt away.
All told, I would recommend the AKK horse trails for anyone wanting to test their mettle, see some beautiful scenery or just have some quite moments. There are many little niches, nooks and crannies around the trails where a person can spend some time alone, with a special someone or with a group even, having a good time. I know Edward and I rather enjoyed ourselves and will no doubt be back again, looking to explore the sims in greater depth. As it was though, it was an excellent place to go to spend some time together, and we returned to our duties refreshed by the time spent in the wonderful surroundings and in quiet conversation.

Ain't Goin' Down Till the Sun Comes Up
YEEEEEE HAAAWWWWWWWW!!!!!! *ahem* Pardon me! Tonight was the weekly dance in Steelhead and this week's theme was, as you might have guessed.....Western. Not owning anything that falls under that category, I decided (with my dear brother Lunar) to go as one of those "ladies" that just can't get enough of those Rodeo Cowboys. That's right ladies and gents, I went as a Buckle Bunny.
I hauled my "evil twin" form out of the closet and wrestled her on. Lunar decided that he would go as his evil twin as well, just because. That's him in the very short Daisy Dukes behind me, working it on the dancefloor.
Fuzzball was the host and since he didn't have a darn thing in his wardrobe that was western, he went out and found himself a "Quickdraw McGraw" av. His lovely sister, Angelica Tresothick was our DJ and did a fabulous job, spinning a wide variety of tunes, including a few country, which promptly made the sheriff break out in hives. Good thing they have ointment for that!
Fuzz as Quickdraw
Angelica and her hubby Patrick
It was a fantastic evening! If you missed it, you truly missed out. Miss Frequency Picnic came as a cactus (and left before I could get a good shot of her) and of course there were lots of hats, boots, bling, beans, biscuits, beer.........hold on!!!! There wasn't any beer! *sighs* No long neck bottles....ah well. It still was a lot of fun.
Some of the boot-scooting boogiers
Miss Katt doing a dance to make lindens fall from the sky
Mr. Goodliffe and Miss Laval doing a very hip version of a square dance
Next Thursday we are having an Elvis event in Steelhead, to mark the anniversary of The King's passing (please, no potty jokes!). Dust off your blue suede shoes, unleash your hound dog and don't be cruel, come down and have a blast in Steelhead!!!

The Last Hurrah (until next time)
Last night saw the last event to be held in Caledon for the SLRFL. Do I hear a collective sigh of relief? I thought so. While the SLRFL was a worthy cause, 6 months of events and activities is just a bit much. I realise that it is runs this long in RL too, but I think in RL you generally don't attend 3 events per week (at least) and so it doesn't seem quite so intense. Anyhow, whining and complaning aside, the end has come and so, in true Caledonian fashion, there was a Rave!
Miss Diamanda Gustafson (known in some parts as Lady Whoop-ass) made her debut as the newest DJ on the Radio Riel team. She kept us on the floor with very funky folk music, rocking the house (or open air fair ground) for 2 hours. She did an excellent job and will be a welcome member of Radio Riel, to be sure.
Lady Whoop-ass Folking about
Some of the revellers, getting warmed up for when Her Grace the Duchess of Loch Avie arrives so "Little Eva and the Tartans" can ride once again
Edward and I getting down and working it....in sync of course!
The Duchess and her Doppleganger
Later in the evening, the Duchess took over the airwaves and we raved on into the night. It was noted that there seems to be a strange, clothing-eating virus that invades Caledonian raves and eats various articles of people's clothing. My Goodness!!!
Caledonian's get down and party!
It was a fantastic evening, a suitable end to a very long haul. Caledon outdid itself though and raised L$1,265,300 for the cause!!! Huzzah!!!
*Note: As of 11:18 am, SLT, Caledon's grand total was L$1,297, 328. I'd also like to extend a big thank you to all those who donated a lot of blood, sweat and tears, doing their best to come up with so many unique and fun ideas. Three cheers for the volunteers and for the generosity of Caledonians!!!!
